December is here!

Yea! It's December! I love this time of year. I love the lights, the music, the excitement, the anticipation, and when it's done, I like shopping! I know, that doesn't make any sense, but it's so tiring sometimes. But I have to say, except for a couple of people/items, we're done shopping! And I'm done sewing...oops! Not! I just created a new project for myself. We're having a nativity play after our Christmas dinner celebration later in the month and I picked up some pieces of fabric to use as "costumes" for the grandkids. Most of it is glimmery/metallic, so it needs to be lined before it frays into nothingness. So that's my new project....adding a cotton lining to the fabrics. I also need to add two sets of handprints to our tree skirt. Back in 2005, I made a tree skirt and it's adorned with all of the grandkids' handprints, names and dates. We've added two grandkids since then, Luke and Hattie, and I need to add their prints to the skirt. So I guess I'm not done sewing.
Today was my first day of helping Brian and Kamille with transporting their kids and getting everybody in the right place at the right time. Kamille started a new job yesterday and since Brian has his Master's classes on Tuesday nights, they needed help shuffling the kids. My job is to pick up the boys from the sitter and bring them back here. We meet Brian and Abby at our house, feed everyone and Brian goes to class. We're here entertaining each other until Kamille comes by to get them after work. And I think I passed today! No glitches and everyone left happy, I think. So that's success in my book.
Tomorrow will be a sewing day and the day to make barrettes/headbands for the girls to match their Christmas skirts. They turned out so cute. I'll have to take a picture when them model them.
