February birthdays

February is a short month, but a big birthday month at our house. Abby, Dallin and Hattie all have February birthdays, which means birthday sleepovers!! Those are the best! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....fun times were had by all!

Eliza Track

Once again this year, Eliza chose to run track. She does a great job....takes after her dad! She runs some of the track events...100m and 200 m, but her love is high jump! She's got talent!! She took second in state in her age group and got to go to regionals in Albuquerque, where she placed...I'm thinking second there, too, if I'm not mistaken. Good job, Eliza!

Amaryllis

For Christmas, I received two amaryllis bulbs from friends. I'd never tried growing them before, so this was a fun adventure! I was very pleased with the results. I may have to try that again next year!! They were beautiful!!

Dutch Oven Cooking

Mark has been wanting to learn how to cook using a Dutch oven. So for Christmas this past year, I gave him a Dutch oven and all of the other supplies he needed, along with a class. It was taught by our friend, Mark Wilkins. It was held on a Saturday and we were there all day cooking and learning. What a fun class that was! And we've tried our hand at several other meals since then....until summer hit....too hot to be outside standing over a fire, even long enough to get the coals hot. I'm sure we'll be back at it come autumn.

Abby Student of the Month

Abby was selected to be Student of the Month at school in December and was recognized in January. She is such a good student...always does her best and puts forth her best effort. We're proud of you, Abby!

Emma's Baptism

Emma was baptized in January. What a wonderful way to start off the new year! She was the only child in their stake to be baptized, so she got her own personal event. She was beautiful in the family baptismal outfit (for the girls) and in her lovely white dress. After the service, Dan and Chris planned a family luncheon. It was delightful! We had a taco bar. Yummy!!! The grandkids always have a fun time getting together, and that day was no different. Luke was a bit camera-shy, though.
I hope Emma always remembers the covenants she made that day and all of the people who were there to love and support her on her special day. Her Sardoni grandparents and some aunts, uncles and cousins made the trip from out of state to be with her. It was truly a wonderful, memorable day!

Miss me?

It's been a LONG time since I've posted, and since I promised Eliza that I'd post something today, here I am. It's been way too long. I've thought about just starting from today and moving ahead, but there have been too many memorable events that I want to record before I totally forget what happened! So here we go...
